Simple & Quick Homemade Body Scrubs

We all lose our shit sometimes.

I don't mean our keys or the paci... I mean our mental capability to deal with anything, including but not limited to: a screaming toddler, a lost package, finding the remote, the perfect photo taken with a dirty lens, or a missing hair elastic.

I have screamed, "I just can't take my life right now!"

The baby monitor was lost.

You deserve to lose your shit.  You've earned it. But what if you could take a preventative measure to lose your shit less? Interested?

I've created 3 simple body scrubs so you can treat yo'self.

You can make them quickly and easily with items you have in your kitchen.

You need to take time for yourself.

You really need to take time for yourself.

10 minutes.

Because I know taking time for yourself can even feel annoying. It's easier to just put your head down, make food, feed food, clean up food, repeat. I've been there.  I'm there often.

10 minutes.

Use one of these scrubs in the shower to feel expensive and important.

Heck, stay dressed if it's easier, pull up a stool, swing your legs in the tub and exfoliate to get a sweet shave and a diy pedicure.

Queens have clean feet.  You are a Queen.  You will own the rest of your day.

I love how each scrub has a unique smell and uses a completely different exfoliator than the others.

I wanted you to feel special and have options just like if you were at the spa!

A couple Quik tips:

Remember that bathtubs are slippery.  Always be mindful of using any oil in the tub.  Might be best to drink the wine afterwards.

I generally do a 2:1 ratio of exfoliator to oil. If you're someone that likes a creamier scrub just add more coconut oil.  You can always add... you just can't take away ;)

Make sure the coconut oil is soft when you add and mix.  If it's winter and chilly in your home you may need to give it a zap in the microwave for 7-10 seconds.

Coffee and Vanilla Scrub

The smell combo of coffee and vanilla is incredible.  A great way to wake up a sleepy brain. If you're like me then you're coffee is your mommy morning medicine.  Save them grinds. Coffee also reduces cellulite.  Maybe I should have led with that.

1/4 cup used coffee grinds (k cups work too)

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix ingredients together in bowl.  Enjoy immediately or store sealed at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Sea Salt & Lime Scrub

Scrubbing with salt invigorates the skin and helps improve circulation.  Salt also has antiseptic qualities which can help remove bacteria from your skin while unclogging pores.  If you weren't already sold, lime also has been known to "slow down" the aging of your skin.  Boom.

1/2 cup sea salt

1/4 cup coconut oil

Zest of 1 lime (use a cheese grater to zest green peel)

Mix ingredients together in a bowl.  Enjoy immediately or store seeled at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Rose Petal Sugar Scrub

We all need to rub rose petals on our skin occasionally, yes? This scrub is super light and fluffy.  It's so yummy for all over exfoliation and the light rose fragrance is gorg.  I also keep a little next to my bathroom sink and gently exfoliate my lips with it.  I used a pink rose but you can use whatever color rose suits you. A perfect way to get a little more life out of the gorgeous flowers you had in your home.

1/2 cup sugar (plain white sugar is fine, or a coarser sugar if you prefer)

1/4 cup coconut oil

12 rose petals

Using a food processor or blender, whiz up the sugar, coconut oil, and rose petals.  Spoon into a sealable container. Enjoy!

Try one of these scrubs yourself today or mix one up for a friend who could use a little love.  I purposely made them easy and convenient so you knew you could handle it.

I get overwhelmed with putting away clean clothes.  I am with you on needing everything quick and easy.  It's why I'm here for you! xx Becky

P.S. If you love this leave me a comment below.  I'd really like to hear which scrub was your favorite!
